Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface since spring of that year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was over.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet defended four early chances in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
