Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers reported they were alerted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Officers then discovered many other smeared vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have asked to the residents for details.

A high-ranking political figure stated the attack made him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
